Stories from Kwaggafontein

Kwaggafontein is an office devoted to domestic violence in Mpumalanga. The head paralegal is Nthofela Makhele. Our junior journalist is Jan Sindane.

Each story first appeared on partner community radio station Emalahleni FM and was produced by community paralegals.

The Justice Cluster of Mpumalanga

I drive into Kwaggafontein, Mpumalanga – down the main stretch of road – and the potpourri of small businesses is exciting and overwhelming. They lurch out into the road selling crisps, car tyres and beer. I ask for directions to the court and I’m told it is in the road that’s parallel which contains a similar mini-city, this time of justice-based services.

CJN trains community paralegals to be radio journalists.
To do this we are partnered with the following advice offices and radio stations
